PURPOSE:To facilitate procurement of a starting material of a heavy metal capturing agent and its preparation by using a polyamide resin having a specified structure as a heavy metal capturing resin. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide resin used is a linear amphoteric polyamide resin, its cross-linked resin, or one of those having various active groups introduced, each of them capable of forming a chelate compd. with various heavy metals is substantiarily constituted of repeating units having formulaeI-IV in which (m) is an integer of 2-6. The linear amphoteric polyamide resin is obtained by polycondensation of polycarboxylic acid with polyethylene-polyamine produced in addition from production of ethylene diamine from ethylene dichloride and ammonia. A water-insoluble cross-linked polyamide resin is obtained by further heating this polyamide and causing cross-linking reaction between carboxylic groups and imino groups. |
