The device consists of a first heating boiler (1) for gaseous, liquid or particulate fuels and a second heating boiler (2) for solid fuels, with a three-way valve (10) which is arranged in the heating flow ducts (7,8,9) of the two boilers (1,2) and which can be changed over in dependence on which of the two heating boilers (1,2) is operated. For changing over, a first thermostat (21) is arranged in the second heating boiler (2), and a further thermostat (24) in the flue outlet (3) of the second heating boiler (2), their outputs being applied to a control circuit (20), by means of which the three-way valve (10) can be changed over and in addition the first heating boiler (1) can be controlled. <IMAGE>
