PURPOSE:To extend a service life of an ink ribbon which supplies ink to a printer by inversing its top and bottom portions as well as obverse and reverse surfaces at each circulation in a cassette by forming the ink-ribbon into a ring- shape with one twisting at one place like a M obius band. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 4 which is formed into an endless form with one twisting at one place is installed in a cassette 5 in such a manner that a portion where is not twisted is presented from a slit 9 and the cassette 5 is installed on a printer 1 by fitting holes 7 onto shafts 8. The ribbon is rotated in the regular direction in the cassette 5 with coating ink thereonto by a ink roller, and a printing mechanism executes printing upon hitting on a platen 3 through the ink ribbon 4 and a rolled paper 2. By every one full circulation of the ink ribbon 4 in the cassette 5, its top and bottom portions as well as obverse and reverse surfaces are inverted, consequently upper and lower portions of the ribbon 4 are alternately used widthwise for printing, thereby clearer printing is obtained and the service life of the ribbon is extended. |
