PURPOSE:To increase the tracking range of a target by always controlling the angle of a transmitting beam to the optimum value by using the measured value of the range. CONSTITUTION:Pulse laser light 2 from a pulse laser device 1 is transmitted to the target by giving the angle of the transmitting beam which is externally set by a transmitting optical system 3. Reflected light 4 from the target is received by a receiving optical system 5, and the image of the target is formed on the light receiving surface of a four quadrant detecting device 6. The four quadrant detecting device 6 computes the shifted amount from the light axis of the center of the target image, and measures the range to the target based on the propagation delay time of the received pulse light. A measured range signal 9 which is obtained by the four quadrant detecting device 6 is supplied. A transmitting system driver 10 drives the transmitting optical system 3 so that the angle of the transmitting beam always becomes the optimum beam angle at the measured range. |
