PURPOSE:To prevent an ineffective oil coating, by controling the quantity of coating oil in accordance with a line speed by making an output of a function generator, of which an output voltage saturates with an increase of the line speed, as a standard signal of speed setting. CONSTITUTION:Oil rolls 3 and 4 immersed in oil pans 1 and 2 are driven by a motor 5 to coat oil on a steel band 6. The oil-coated steel band reaches pinch rolls 8 driven by a motor 7, and a line speed V1 is detected by a speed detector 9 attached to the motor 7. The oil rolls 3 and 4 are rotated relatively faster when the line speed is low and oil viscosity is also low, and a function generator 10, which generates a speed standard corresponding to the line speed for rotating the rolls 3 and 4 when the line speed is high, is provided. The motor 5 for driving the oil rolls is driven through a speed controlling device 12, which corrects the signal of a detected line speed V1 and makes the output of a speed detector 11 as a feed back signal. |
