A CO2 sporting weapon (sports weapon), especially a CO2 pistol, having a CO2 cartridge (5) which can be released from the weapon, is used as a supply container and has a spring-loaded valve (70) which is opened automatically during attachment to the weapon, and having a seal (58) which, when the weapon is ready to fire, prevents CO2 emerging at the junction point of the CO2 cartridge and the weapon, is characterised in that a further valve (35) is arranged on the weapon, at the connection point for the CO2 cartridge, which further valve (35) is opened when the cartridge is attached and releases the path for the CO2 to a firing valve (10) which initiates the shot, and in that the arrangement is designed such that the seal (58) is already sealed during attachment of the CO2 cartridge (5) to the weapon if the valve (70) and the further valve (35) are still closed, and, during removal of the CO2 cartridge from the weapon, is not opened until the said valves are closed. This prevents CO2 being lost and noise being produced during replacement of the CO2 cartridge. <IMAGE>
