PURPOSE:An enzyme in Hansenula or the like, capable of producing the titled substance, is cultured in a medium containing methionine, further, specific bases, nucleosides, nucleotides, ribonucleic acids and deoxyribonucleic acids to produce the titled substance. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme in Saccharomyces, Candida or Hansenula, capable of producing S-adenosylmethionine, such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae IFO 2346, is cultured in a medium containing methonine. At thie time, at least one bses selected from uracil, thymine, purine and others, nucleoside such as inosine or guanosine, nucleotide such as inosine-5'-monophsophate, ribonucleic acid or deoxyribonucleic acid are added by more than 0.01g/dl concentration. After aerobid cultivation, the accumulated S-adenosylmethionine is collected by usual methods. |
