In a hydraulic motor for the rotary drive of a grab or suchlike tool connected to the boom of an excavator or crane, with a stator which can be connected to the boom, a rotor which can be connected to the grab, and a plurality of pressure cylinders which are arranged in the rotor and on whose pistons balls are arranged at the front end, which interact with an undulating rolling surface provided on the stator, two axial bores are provided in the stator and a multiplicity of openings are provided at the periphery of the stator in order to control the feed and return flow of the hydraulic fluid to and from the pressure cylinders. During rotation of the rotor, the openings at the periphery of the stator are made to coincide with openings, communicating with the pressure cylinders, at the inner wall surface of the rotor. The bores which run from the openings at the stator periphery to the axial bore for the feed of the hydraulic fluid and the bores which run from the openings at the stator periphery to the axial bore for the return flow of the hydraulic fluid are arranged axially offset from one another. <IMAGE>
