摘要 PURPOSE:To enable an operation of optimum working efficiency under any operative condition by a method wherein engine rotation number control is given priority when an engine load is more than a predetermined partial load, and otherwise, a compressor capacity control is performed. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner whose compressor 2 is driven by an engine 1 having a governor 11 includes a water temperature sensor 20 for air conditioning, temperature adjuster 22 for the sensor 20, output adjuster 24, capacity adjuster 25, switching means 27 and a capacity sensor 28. In operation, for example in the air cooling operation, when the temperature detected by the sensor 20 is higher than a predetermined value and the output of a torque meter 14 is smaller than the current maximum output calculated by a rotation number-torque converter 23 based on the signal from a rotation meter 15, it is confirmed whether a compressor capacity control mechanism is entirely opened or not with reference to the signal from the sensor 28, and then the adjuster 22 controls the rotation number through the governor 11. If the output from the rotation meter 15 drops below the predetermined value, the rotation number is fixed at the predetermined value, and the signal from the adjuster 22 is led to the adjuster 25 to perform a capacity control.
