PURPOSE:To prevent the development of a recording medium surface from being carried out while image information is written, by making relative positions of a recording medium and a developing roller unchanged in a transfer type image recording device which empolys electrophotography or electrostatic recording. CONSTITUTION:While image information is written, a toner supply roller 6 is stopped to prevent toner 5 from being supplied to a developing roller 3, thus inhibiting the development of the surface of a recording medium 1. During development, the toner supply roller 6 is driven to supply the toner 5 to the developing roller 3, and the upstanding tufts of the toner 5 are executed to perform the development of the surface of the recording medium 1. In the figure, 7 is a doctor blade for regulating the height of the upstanding tufts of the toner 5 supplied to a gap (g) during the supply of the toner 5. Namely, while the image information is written, the upstanding tufts of the toner are inhivited and during the development, the inhibition state is reset to perform the development of the recording medium surface only at need while the relative positions of the recording medium and developing roller are fixed. |
