PURPOSE:To correct off-track, by shifting a head position in a minute amount toward axial or opposite direction of a disc, depending on the increase/decrease of an exciting current of a stepping motor, when the off-track is caused. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 5 is attracted to axial direction of a disc 1 with a drawing member 6 and is driven with a stepping motor 7, which has coils L1- L4. The relation between an exciting current and a position of magnetic head is shown in igure. The double line parts show the excited parts. When the current of coil is less, the storage torque of the motor 7 is stable when the carriage 5 is attracted to the axial direction of the disc 1 and when the current is large, the carriage 5 is stable in the direction where the carriage 5 is parted from the axis of the disc. That is, the position of the carriage 5 can be changed by a minute amount by varying the exciting current. |
