<p>PURPOSE:To compensate a variation of an element characteristic, by providing a transparent electrode on both surfaces of Bi12SiO20 showing a Pockels effect, providing a slit on one surface electrode, dividing it into 2, making both surface electrodes conductive, and passing light which has been divided equally therethrough. CONSTITUTION:On both surfaces of an element 1 such as Bi12SiO20 showing a Pockels effect, a transparent electrode 2 is provided. A slit 9 is provided on the electrode 2 of one surface, which is divided into 2. The electrode 2 divided into 2 is connected to the electrode 2 of the opposite side. On the other hand, light emitted from a light emitting device 3 is divided into 2 equal parts through a spectroscope 10, is provided to a polarizer 4 and a 1/4 wavelength plate 5 through optical fibers 8a, 8b, and is made to pass through the element 1. Light power P3, P4 which has passed through the element 1 is determined by a photodetector 6. From the power P3, P4, it is possible to calculate the voltage which has compensated influence of a characteristic variation of the Pockels effect element. Also, DC voltage can be measured, too.</p> |
