The assembly has a rail (14) formed with two slot-shaped openings into which a plastics tape (42) can be received at one end thereof, such that a sprocket (41) can drive the tape (42) from one slot into the other slot, thus driving a trolley (19) carrying the garage door (10). The trolley (19) can be disconnected from the tape (42), so as to allow manual operation of the door (10), the tape (42) preferably being formed of a perforated elastomeric material, so as to transmit power under compression or pushing as well as under tension for pulling the door (10) between respective open and closed positions. |
