摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To produce high Cr metal inexpensively by charging chromium oxides, carbonaceous solids and O2 continuously into a horizontal type cylindrical furnace having a rotary tilting mechanism and gas blowing tuyeres and reducing the Cr oxides under agitation by blowing of gases. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal type cylindrical furnace 1 is provided with a tilting device to be rotated along a cylindrical axis, tuyeres 2 in the furnace bottom and a top blowing oxygen lance 3. Cr oxides or the solid phase prereduced matter thereof, for example, high carbon ferrochromium stainless steel scraps, etc. and carbonaceous solids, for example, coke, etc. are charged continuously into the furnace 1 through the opening part 5 in the upper part, and O2 is blown through a top blowing oxygen lance 3. The raw materials are melted by the heat evolved with decarburization and the Cr oxides are reduced under agitation by the inert gas blown through the tuyeres 2. The formed molten Cr alloy and molten slag by the above-mentioned method are discharged intermittently by tilting the furnace 1 with the tilting device.</p>
