摘要 <p>For the purpose of heating-cost saving with internal combustion engine heat pumps, the refrigerating circuits have previously been operated with a type of evaporator and compressor of open construction. By means of two compact units which work independently of one another, a) the compact unit with refrigerating circuit, with fully hermetically encapsulated compressors with the exception that in this case two evaporators are operated alternatively. Up to an outside temperature of +5 DEG C an air evaporator works, upwards of +5 DEG C the unit switches over to the second, the water evaporator. b) the compact unit with internal combustion engine and generator. The electric current generated drives the compressor, the waste heat is supplied via heat exchangers to the heating circuit new possibilities, significant savings and an increase in operational safety arise: - as a result of the use of fully hermetic compressors, there are no difficulties in sealing the shaft lead-through - as a result of independent working of the compact units, the retrofitting of electric heat pumps already in existence with a compact unit/internal combustion engine/generator is possible - as a result of reaching high performance numbers, as evaporation temperature remains the same at outside temperatures below +5 DEG C, and keeping the condensation temperature low. High heating system forward-run temperatures are possible as a result of internal combustion engine waste heat. - as a result of the elimination of the automatic defrost.</p>
