PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease of the air electrode performance by previously separating an air electrode inside a fuel cell from an ionexchange membrane, and filling an electrolyte in between, and by exhauting water produced by reaction on a negative electrode side, and by removing this water from the cell by cooling to condense. CONSTITUTION:The water produced in an air electrode 7 is easily dissolved into an electrolyte in an air electrode liquid compartment 10 since the wall on an air electrode air compartment 4 side is waterproofed. When a cell is in the rated operation at an electrolyte temperature of 50-60 deg.C, unreacted nitrogen and water vapor reached a saturation point by this temperature are exhausted to cooling equipment 23 through an exhausting path 22, and cooled by air which flows in a cooling duct 28, and condensed water is separated from nitrogen. Nitrogen flows to a gas exhausting path 31 and condensed water flows to a liquid exhausting path 32. Thus, water generated by reaction is removed to the outside of the cell. |
