PURPOSE:To effectively perform damping of a chain at its turning motion, in a chain transmission mechanism used with the roller chain, by providing corrugated protrusions to the periphery while a large contoured spline hole to the internal periphery of an elastic ring and equipping said elastic ring to one side of a sprocket. CONSTITUTION:If a sprocket 7 is rotated to the direction of an arrow head, a roller chain 1, pivotally mounted with rolling rollers 6 to each pin 4, is turned to the same direction by chain teeth 7a in the periphery of the sprocket. At this time, though the rolling roller 6 is rapidly approximated to a tooth bottom 7b in accordance with rotary motion of the sprocket 7, prior to its reaching to the tooth bottom 7b, link plates 2, 3 of the chain 1 are adapted to a protruding part 11 of an elastic ring 9, largely expanded rightward in the vicinity of the pin 4, and the rolling roller 6 is damped. Since the elastic ring 9 is provided with a spline hole 12, having circular arc shaped teeth in the internal periphery, and can be meshed to a spline shaft-like bottom wall 8a of a supporting ring 8, larger damping force can be obtained. |
