PURPOSE:To stabilize the operation of a plasma display panel, and reduce the number of driving circuits by providing an input cell part having a self scanning function. CONSTITUTION:A plasma display panel has a pilot cell part 31 and an input cell part 32. The pilot cell part 31, which is formed on the lower surface of an upper base plate and on the upper surface of a lower base plate, consists of pilot-cell main electrodes 13 and 14 that are coated with dielectric films, a first and a second pilot-cell auxiliary electrode, and pilot-cell partition walls 16. The input cell part 32 consists of input-cell main electrodes 22 and 23, input-cell auxiliary electrodes 26 and 27, and an input-cell partition wall 24. The space formed by the upper base plate, the lower base plate and a panel side-wall is charged with a dischargable gas. |
