The invention relates to a method for electromechanical current control, in the case of which a metal and a semiconductor are brought into contact and a voltage and forces which lead to a current change through the contact region are applied thereto successively. The area on which the force acts is kept equal (in the region in which the metal and semiconductor make contact) to the area of the contact region itself in the entire zone in which the forces act. The device for implementing this method for electromechanical current control contains a contact diode, which has a metal electrode in the form of a current-carrying sphere (ball) (2) and a semiconductor crystal (1) which makes contact therewith, and a mechanism for transmitting force to the contact diode. The contact area of the current-carrying sphere (2) with the semiconductor crystal (1) is equal to the area on which the force acts. The method and the device for electromechanical current control can be used especially for entering information into electronic calculator machines and broadcast radios and television sets. <IMAGE>
