PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic thin film magnetic tape or the like with the running property improved, by forming two notch groups, which are at prescribed angles to a prescribed part of a film and have a specific positional relation, on a magnetic layer which does not include a binder. CONSTITUTION:The first notch group 100 which is at the first prescribed angle theta1 with a prescribed part (for example, a center line 121 in the longitudinal direction of a magnetic tape) of a base film 12 and the second notch group 200 which is at the second prescribed angle theta2 with the prescribed part are formed on a magnetic layer 13 which is formed on the base film 12 and does not include a binder. Both notch groups 100 and 200 have a positional relation as reflected images about said prescribed part. For example, a magnetic thin film 13 is formed on the base film 12 consisting of polyester or the like by the oblique vapor-deposition of Co-Ni alloy or the like. Next, marking rollers 36 and 40 having oblique engravings as shown in figures are heated and pressed to the magnetic thin film 13 to form notch groups 100 and 200 where theta1=theta2=45 deg. is true, and a protecting layer is formed on the surface. |
