The collector is for rearing oysters and similar shellfish, and comprises one or more stiff wires wound into coils (1). The wire can be coated with brittle material or elastomer, the latter containing calcium and/or cement, and the coil diameter can be between 5 and 30 cm. It can be stretched in stages as the larvae attached to it grow, and twisted at the same time so that they become detached from it. |
