In order to determine the distribution of densities when pressing powdered and/or granular material in a pressing mould using a pressing stamp, a pressure sensor is arranged on the pressing stamp to measure the pressing pressure and at least one further pressure sensor is arranged at a distance from the pressing stamp to measure the inside pressure of the pressing mould at these points.
