A segment gear mechanism consists at least of an input and an output which are alternately in engagement and out of engagement with one another. A continuous input movement gives an intermittent output movement, the output being locked while stationary. This locking is provided by an arc-shaped locking rib which is formed concentrically on the input and engages temporarily in a corresponding arc-shaped locking groove arranged eccentrically on the output. |
