A soap or wax composition includes an ester of an S-carboxy-dithiocarbamate, preferably in an amount of 0.05-2 of ester by weight of the soap or wax. Preferably the ester is an S-carboxy-dialkyl-dithiocarbamate in which the alkyl groups have 1-6 carbon atoms. Specified esters are S-ethoxycarbonyl-N : N-dimethyl-and - diethyl - dithiocarbamate, S - ethoxycarbonyl piperidinodithiocarbamate, and S-ethoxycarbonyl morpholinodithiocarbamate. Specified soaps are common soap and other soaps derived from coconut and castor oil, for example, potassium soaps. Specified waxes are beeswax, carnauba and paraffin wax.
