<p>A recording and/or reproducing apparatus is provided with a head disc around the periphery of which a tape is wrapped to contact a head which is sustained at the marginal portion of the head disc. The head scans the tape in response to the rotation of the head disc to record signals thereon and/or to reproduce signals therefrom. The apparatus is provided with a device to reduce the vibration of the tape which is generated when the head separates from the tape. This device may include a projection which pushes against the tape near the position where the head separates from the tape, or a squeezing plate which faces generally parallel to the tape and produces an air damping effect upon the tape.</p> |
