摘要

Method of blocking selectively the ends of parallel channels of ceramic structures comprises (a) prepg. a paste having in the solid phase a glass powder, the expansion coefft. of which is close to that of the ceramic structure, and a liq. phase contg. a solvent, a plastifier and an additive for reducing the adherence of the paste to an applicator; (b) applying the paste to the selected channels; and (c) heat treating the structure to ensure adherence of the paste to the walls of the channel followed by its solidification. The method is simpler and quicker than masking those ends not be be closed and dipping into ceramic slurry before firing.
