<p>Lettering in contrasting colour is produced in the sidewalls of tyres; the lettering areas of a vulcanising mould stand out in relief, a coloured strip of unvulcanised or vulcanised rubber is laid on these areas and pressed down, the relief pattern acts as a cutter, the waste parts of the strip are removed, and the raw tyre is vulcanised with the lettering in position. Smooth surface on lettering which is protected from dirt, sidewall need not be weakened, good optical effect.</p> |
