The central latching device is used for the locks of motor vehicles. It consists of a switch which latches and unlatches each lock. The drive equipment are protected by a timing network, which limits the control time. Each door to be is provided with a changeover switch with two switch positions on the latching mechanism. The in the driver's door and the changeover switch can be operated directly with a key. The common contact of each changeover switch is connected to earth. The two change-over contacts link the open control line and the close control line to the timing network.
