The mass counterbalances free mass forces and/or moments in a piston engine. There are one or more balance weights driven by a crank from the crankshaft and guided by a link rocking on the crankcase. The crank drive comprises a cylindrical disc (2) eccentrically-driven by a crankpin (1) and turning in a cylindrical bearing bore (7) formed in a link (3). Additional weights (23) can be formed at the bore end of the link, and there can be apertures (6) at regular intervals round the disc, one of these being diametrally opposite that accommodating the crankpin.
|
