The plate has a body (11) fixed on a support unit such as a table, (3) and pressed against a machining piece (1) such as a sheet metal. A screw (31) drives a nail (5) against the machining piece in a manner to pierce the nail, formed on a rod, into the piece. A screw-nut maintains the nail to be driven into the interior of the machining piece. An Independent claim is also included for a process for fixing a piece to manufacture on a support unit.
