A shaving unit which comprises at least one blade 6, 7, and a blade support of moulded polymeric material which provides skin-engaging cap and guard surfaces 3, 4, in which the portion of the blade support that provides the guard surface and/or the cap surface being formed wholly in part of a moulded mixture of at least one hydrophobic material and at least one water- leachable hydrophilic polymeric material such that, during shaving the water present on the area to be shaved leaches out the hydrophilic material which consequently serves as a lubricant in place of a conventional shaving soap or cream. <IMAGE> |
