1,157,310. Selective signalling. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 23 May, 1967 [27 May, 1966], No. 23784/67. Heading G4H. A plurality of transmission terminals each comprising a keyboard for example, also have a respective recirculating store in which control signals are stored, and when a terminal is ready to transmit, a data available signal is generated, coincidence of this signal with a control signal at a datum position in the associated store causing generation of a service request signal and simultaneously inhibiting generation of service request signals by the other terminals. If coinciding control and data available signals occur simultaneously in two terminals, the corresponding service request signals are generated in a predetermined priority order. The invention is applied to a cathode-ray tube display system as disclosed in Specification 1,133,600. |
