The shredder has a housing (1) with a feed mechanism consisting of conveyor belts (3,4). The material to be shredded is transported towards a cylinder (5) mounted on the shaft (6) and fitted with a number of cutting blades (7) on its surface. Underneath the cylinder, a screw conveyor (8) mounted on a shaft (9) is provided, transporting the shredded material towards a paddle wheel (10) fitted in the inner housing (11). The paddle wheel discharges the shredded material via a discharge tube (12). The shafts of the cylinder and screw conveyor are parallel and have drive pulleys on their ends protruding from the housing. The screw conveyor penetrates a restricted part of the housing and its shaft carries the paddle wheel on the end opposite to the drive end.
