Units to reflect light (10) are scattered into the material just applied to the surface of the road before it has set hard. The process is used for making reflective guide lines with a surface profile, on a roadway. At the end of a length of time determined by the adhesion quality and hard-setting speed of the road material (8), the surface profile (14) is worked into it. The roller (6) for making the profile is located to the rear of the spreading appliance (4), and has a patterned surface (12). The profile may be pyramidal, conical or rib-shaped. The roller may have coolant flowing through it. |
