PURPOSE:To make a blooming shape circular, by equalizing the amount of charge flowing in a transfer direction to that of charge flowing in a channel stopper direction. CONSTITUTION:On a semiconductor substrate 10, transfer electrodes 8 and channel stoppers separating those electrodes 8 are provided and while the transfer electrodes 8 are separated by a signal storage and a no-signal storage state, an operating voltage is applied and controlled to make excessive charge overflow in a signal transfer and a channel stopper direction by the same amount. Then, a blooming shape becomes cricular and even when the excessive charge increases tens times, blooming in a white belt shape never occurs. |
