Thermal treatment of organic waste liquids - in two tanks using first distn. and second pyrolysis stage in turn

A thermal treatment for waste material such as organic substances like spent solvents, containing oil, grease, synthetic resin, bituminous products, or pigments, products of abrasion, salts and other inorganic matter, consists of distilling in a first stage a fixed part of the waste in the presence of air without decomposition. In a second stage the remaining part is pyrolised in the same device at higher temperatures in the absence of air. A duplicate of the first device is heated by the gaseous products of pyrolysis of the first and is operated alternately with the first. This recovers valuable raw materials, using a minimum of extraneous energy. It produces a minimum of bulk which has to be disposed of.
