PURPOSE:To check the deterioration of a resin and to dispose water under a stable condition, by passing the water to be treated through a mixed bed containing an excessive amount of a cation exchange resin, and then through an anion exchange resin layer containing a discoloration indicator. CONSTITUTION:Water to be treated is passed through a mixed bed in which the exchange volume of a cation exchange resin is mush bigger than that of an anion exchange resin, and then through an anion exchange resin-packed layer containing a discoloration indicator, e.g. Thymol Blue, Thymol phthalein or the like. If the exchange volume of the resin exceeds an allowable value, the indicator changes it color. As a result, the flow of the water to be treated is stopped, and the ion exchange resin is replaced by a new one. Consequently, water disposl can be done contantly under a stable condition. |
