The invention relates to a drum bearing arrangement for drum washing machines and centrifuges which are subjected to different mechanical loads and are equipped with rolling bearings. The invention is intended to achieve the object of achieving an optimum bearing seat, appropriate to the mechanical loads and materials used, with in each case one rolling bearing. According to the invention, the object is achieved by the fact that the bearing seats both in the hub and on the shaft represent hard press fits only in the edge zones and, in between, have reliefs, giving two annular supporting surfaces, the one entering first into the press fit during assembly being wider than the second annular supporting surface, and that the width of the reliefs depends on the material of the shaft or hub and the width of the rolling bearing, such that, with the chosen fit, approximately equal elastic surface pretension and surface compression exists due to low compression and smoothing in the press-fit region. Possible areas of application are for drum bearing arrangements for drum washing machines and centrifuges and bearing arrangements in which the material of the bearing seat is considerably softer than that of the bearing.
