Insulating lining material for buildings - has thick mineral wool layer faced with extruded polystyrene foam

A panel or roll-up sheet for internally lining and insulating living rooms, basements, roof spaces and the like comprises a basic layer (3) of mineral wool, more esp. glass wool or rock wool, onto which an extruded foam polystyrene facing (4) is laminated. Preferably, the basic mineral wool layer (3) is thicker than the foam polystyrene layer. The polystyrene layer may project laterally at two edges of the panel, to form fixing flanges. The panel or roll-up insulating sheet is very inexpensive and simple to construct and fix, does not require any additional stiffening cladding, and is both acoustically and thermally insulating.
