PURPOSE:To surely remove a developer which adheres to a developing part and the inside of a developer passage, by providing a rinse liquid supply means for feeding a rinse liquid to the developing part before the development or after the development. CONSTITUTION:When a specific frame is positioned in a developing part 66, a rinse liquid bucket pump 133 starts to operate, and simultaneously, a conduit line 122 and a conduit line 124 communicate with each other. Subsequently, a rinse liquid 139 pumped up by the rinse liquid bucket pump 133 passes through a conduit line 135 and fed to a developer tank 126, descends by its dead weight and passes through the conduit line 124 and the conduit line 122, and supplied to the developing part 66 of a process head 54. This rinse liquid 139 flows down through a developing chamber 98, passes through a passage 110 and a return conduit line 146 from a developer squeezing air outflow port 102 and returned into a rinse liquid bottle 137. In such a way, a developer 136 which has adhered to the inside of the conduit line 124, the conduit line 122, a developer supply port 106, the developing chamber 98, a developer squeezing air exhaust port 112, and the return conduit line 146 is removed and cleaned. |
