Wall joint cover type expansion compensator - has vulcanised elastic bottom strip linking two overlapping sheet metal strips

Expansion, from solar heat or other causes is compensated by building in units into components, made of metal and connected via an expansion structure, pref. for incorporation in wall or other coverings. Use is made of two overlapping strips of sheet metal. The metal strips are interconnected on the underside, in the area of the overlap seam, by a strip of elastic rubber type material which is vulcanised in place. This is easily built in, and is universally applicable. It simultaneously serves as a waterproof covering for expansion joints provided between points of abutment of adjacent building components.
