PURPOSE:To correct a reproduced PCM signal smoothly at an editing point, by compensating and detecting the editing point of a tape at the reproduction state of an error detection code of a reproduced signal. CONSTITUTION:A PCM signal is distributed to tracks and error detection codes are recorded on magnetic tape 7 by being added 3 to respective tracks at proper intervals to compensate an error of a reproduced PCM signal on the basis of the reproduction state of the error detection codes in reproduction. In this case, they are recorded by being delayed 4 by a prescribed number of frames for every track, and then reproduced by being delayed 4 for every track so that each track will have the equal sum of the number of delay frames in recording and that in reproduction. In recording, all even-numbered samples in a block differ in delay from all odd-numbered samples and on the basis of reproduction states of error detection codes of the reproduced PCM signal, editing points of the tape are detected 12 and 13 to compensate 4. |
