Speed regulated product feed system - uses sensors to monitor change in product delivery to control feed drive

The controlled feed unit for dispensed products is designed to provide a constant delivery when variations in the product occur. The powdered goods (7) are fed on a continuous conveyor and are discharged at one end. A sensor (53) monitors the weight of the goods and provides an input to a microprocessor based control unit (10,13). An additional input is provided by a capacitive sensor (52) that indicates the condition of the goods on the conveyor. The control unit generates a speed command to the conveyor drive (11) and a separate speed sensor (51) provides feedback to close the loop.
