<p>The rotary motion of a motor drive unit is convertible into a straight movement, in provision for positioning rear-view mirrors, windows, headlamps or other components on motor vehicles. A rotatable drive element (31,32) has drive connection with varying- dia. annular running surfaces (36,37) of two or more down-drive wheels (15,16). A socket (25) is sited coaxially with the axis of rotation (23) of these. This is connected to the positioned component (4), and is axially displaceable, and carried in the direction of rotation of one of the down-drive wheels. It is connected to another down-drive wheel, via a thread, so as to be axially movable. This permits low positioning speed, using only a small number of compact inexpensive components.</p> |
