The workpiece holders (9) for the brush bodies (8) are supported on a rotatable drum (3) or the like which executes both a positioning movement for the processing steps and an advance motion from one processing station to the next. A precision coupling (10) for the drum is provided at least for the first processing position following an advancing movement. This coupling can be formed by two interengaging mutually centering parts. One part is connected to the drum and the other to the machine frame (2) or similar fixed element. This coupling holds the drum in the precise processing position to prevent mechanical breakdowns through faulty positioning.
