High pressure measurement of viscous liquids in small containers - using membrane and compensation pressure generated in vaporiser with electrical heating

A small pressure transfer membrane (1) is used for measurement of high pressure in narrow conductors and small containers, esp. for viscous media. A compensation pressure is automatically generated in a liq. evaporator of very small vol. and large cooling surface. The compensation measurement is combined with generation of the compensation pressure by evaporation of the liq. using electrical heating automatically controlled according to the flexing of the pressure transfer membrane. The heating occurs in a thin-walled specially shaped metal capillary tube of large surface area and small vol. whose walls act as a thermal conductor. The tube is a spiral (14) whose high flow resistance clamps out pressure fluctuations caused by on-off heater regulation.
