Organs to be transplanted such as the kidney can be effectively preserved for a considerably long period of time by using a perfusion solution prepared by mixing Ringer's solution modified by increasing the potassium ion concentration to 8 -20 mEq/l with a stable perfluorocarbon compound emulsion so that the concentration of the perfluorocarbon compound becomes 7.5 - 12.5% (w/v) and the concentration of albumin becomes 1 - 8% (w/v).
