PURPOSE:To obtain a preferable high voltage by a high voltage generator without utilizing the resonance of a transformer by elongating and contracting a piezoelectric substrate with drive and electrostatic electrodes in the generator used for a TV receiver and synthesizing electric fields produced in respective polarizing regions in the same direction. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage generating member 3 is arranged in an electrostatic magnetic field 2 formed by the magnetic poles N, S of a permanent magnet 1. In this member 3, the polarizing directions P, P' of a plurality of longitudinal polarizing regions 5-I, 5-II, 5-III,... are formed in reverse direction to each other in a piezoelectric substrate 4. A drive electrode 7 of zigzag shape as a whole is so provided that a plurality of parallel units 7i, 7i+1,...,7n are disposed on the boundary of the region 5. The substrate 3 is elongated and contracted by the electrode 7 and the electrostatic magnetic field. Electric fields E generated at the respective polarizing regions 5-I, 5-II, 5-III,... are coupled and synthesized in the same direction, and high voltage can be thus produced in high performance without utilizing the resonance of a transformer. |
