<p>In order to eliminate the necessity of transporting the highly inflammable dry powdered coal from the drier to the burner, the method carries out the grinding and drying operation in one plant positioned next to the burner. The plant consists of grinding tubes (10) and (11) stacked above each other performing high speed circular swinging motions. The tubes are filled partly with rods (12,13) acting as grinding elements. The wet coal enters the plant through connection (14), the coal particles reduced to sufficiently small size leave the top tube (10) via screen and enter the bottom tube (11) through connecting tube (16) from where the final product is discharged through connection (18) to the burners. At the same time hot gases enter the top tube (10) through connection (19), pass together with the halfway ground coal through connection (16) and leave the bottom tube (11) through connection (21).</p> |
