Thixotropic frit material dispensing - by applying shear forces for viscosity correction during transfer to output cylinder

In a device for dispensing thixotropic frit materials which are used to seal glass articles at a constant rate, the frit materials are first extruded from a storage cylinder into an output cylinder, thereby exposing them to shear forces which produce a suitable viscosity range. The piston of the output cylinder is then actuated to dispense the frit material with this viscosity at a constant rate. Arrangement ensures a high-quality sealing because the frit materials are dispensed in a suitable viscosity range and at a constant rate.
